Beginning Theatre I is taken prior to Intermediate Theatre II. This course is only offered during the spring semester. SPRING 2025 Units include: improvisation, script writing, lip sync performances, acting theory: Stanislavsky and Uta Hagen, scene work, theatre history (medieval, renaissance, Elizabethan), Shakespeare performances
Grading 50% Major Assignments 40% Minor Assignments 10% First-Time Practice
Intermediate level students are required to put in a minimum of 5 rehearsal or tech hours as part of their grade.
Students are required to see one show per quarter and complete a play analysis on that performance.
The spring musical (March) or theatre ensemble play (May) cover the play requirement for those not involved in show week.
